0.0.2 alpha

A workspace rail for Chrome-heavy days.

Bello Bar keeps Chrome tabs, Slack threads, files, folders, and snapshots in one persistent native tree. Capture the current tab, restore browser-heavy subtrees cleanly, and reopen real targets without flattening your workspace into bookmarks.

Onboarding keeps the setup short.

The app launches into a three-step onboarding flow: choose a language, reveal the bundled Chrome extension, install the native host manifest, and verify the connection before you start capturing and restoring work trees.

Install in three steps

The first release is intentionally explicit. The app bundles the Chrome extension and writes the native messaging manifest for you, but Chrome still needs the unpacked extension loaded once.

Install the app

Download the notarized DMG, move Bello Bar into Applications, and launch it.

Reveal the bundled extension

Use onboarding or Settings to open the bundled extension folder, then load it from Chrome's extensions page in developer mode.

Install the native host manifest

Click the built-in manifest installer, then capture the current tab to confirm Chrome is connected.

Sparkle updates are built in.

Bello Bar ships with Sparkle for native in-app updates. The public feed lives on belloware.com, so future releases can be discovered and installed from the app without a manual redownload flow.

The app also exposes a manual Check for Updates… command and an automatic update-check toggle in Settings.

Built for exact workspace recall

Bookmarks and tab groups are too flat for mixed browser and native workflows. Bello Bar keeps more context without trying to replace the apps you already use.

Capture real targets

Save Chrome tabs, whole Chrome windows, Slack permalinks, files, and folders into one persistent tree.

Restore browser-heavy subtrees

Reopen browser-backed nodes into a clean Chrome window while keeping native targets in their own apps.

Snapshot the tree

Export, import, and restore workspace or subtree snapshots when a branch of work needs to come back later.
